Would you like to witness the sweet sounds of earth-shattering steel tracks and tank turbines with the magnificent Alps as a backdrop? That’s probably not going to happen, but now you can wear a genuine Austrian tanker jacket that was possibly worn by someone involved with Alpine armor troops. This is most likely a one-off lot, so be quick about it.
These Anzug Tanker Jackets might be even cooler than the Anzug basic field jackets, and that is saying a lot! They have a lot in common, but with closer inspection, you’ll see that these tanker jackets have details similar to bomber jackets. You have a ribbed hem and cuffs, slanted front pockets, and a zippered front. The hem is short so it won’t hang under your ass or anywhere else for that matter – you don’t want to get stuck on anything while crawling around inside a metal monster. The upper back has an opening (with hook and loop closure) which you can use to pull out the rescue loop found in many armor crew overalls.
The tag says Bundesheer which means the Austrian Armed Forces. As far as we know, these garments have once been worn by vehicle personnel, possibly even tank crews. The jackets are in good condition, despite being used.
