Product description

Have you ever wanted to walk behind your advancing frontline troops with a Tokarev pistol in your hand to make sure there are no deserters? This here is probably just the right coat for that job! This is a proper, coarse greatcoat still infused with some lingering smell of the ghost of communism. One-off lot!

Features

Before Bulgaria joined NATO and the EU, they were members in other enterprises too, which had their glory days before the 1990s. Those good old times produced this greatcoat, which you can also use for other things than politruk action, of course – a coat is a coat.

  • This is some coarse frieze!
  • Double-breasted
  • Buttons are some kind of plastic
  • Side pockets with flaps
  • Inside chest pocket
  • Various rank insignia on the collar and epaulettes
  • A cotton lining on the torso part
  • Heavy as the sins of communism – this thing weighs about 3 kg / 6.6 lbs

Sizing

The sizing is an obscure Bulgarian system. From what we gather, the Roman numerals denote a chest circumference: III is a Medium. The letter stands for the length: B for 176 cm and A a bit taller at 180 cm.

To make things easier, we decoded these for you in plain measurements. First, you get the recommended height, then the chest circumference. The sizes run large, as to be expected with greatcoats - order your own size and you'll be able to squeeze a fair amount of warm layers underneath.

Care instructions

You can air this out a bit, but other washing operations should be kept to a minimum. Maybe take it to a professional laundry if you must.

Bulgarian surplus

These greatcoats are old and used surplus from the atomic bunkers of the Eastern Bloc. They are in pretty good shape, however. This sort of garments were probably already in use when the Guard of Finland in the late 1870s went in and liberated Bulgaria from the cruel House of Osman.
