What can you trust anymore when the Swiss army knife is actually the German army knife? And in olive green. If you prefer a simple SAK type folder instead of modern multipliers and want something more subdued than red handle plates, this might fit the bill.
The manufacturer may vary. In some cases, you'll see known brands like Victorinox, but we haven't sorted these by all the various contractors. These were all issued by Bundeswehr so they're good.
Bundeswehr has in their great wisdom defined the needs of the German soldier and developed the perfect tool for them. This knife has four foldable tools, one of which features three separate tools. They don’t have a locking mechanism but they are not flimsy. With just the basic features, this one isn’t too bulky when carried and is nice to handle.
When looking at these tools, it seems that the everyday tasks of German soldiers include beer and wine drinking in addition to whittling, sawing, screwing, and repairing leather gear. This makes these knives quite handy in civilian use as well.
All the metal parts are made of stainless steel, the handles of durable olive green plastic.
These knives are used but all in perfectly usable condition. The tools might require some cleaning and oiling, and the knife some sharpening.
