To be frank, these really aren’t the high-tech sports engineer’s fantasy sneakers though. One shoe weighs c. 330 grams (11.6 oz), size 43. So, these were not made light-heartedly but with grim determination. They are designed for running at full speed and flipping tanks while listening to army marches, not for taking cute Insta photos. These are also damn good shoes for regular use, such as walking the dog, going to work, and visiting your local army surplus store.

German Surplus

These are authentic German military surplus sneakers used with varying intensity. Some must have been snatched from the staff officer’s locker next to the equally unused sweat pants. And some have seen a bit more use.

Some, if not all, have holes punched through for pairing or marking. See the pictures for a realistic image of what to expect.

So, the pair you get might have some rouge from the track, some wear on the sole patterns, and so on. Or if you are lucky, it is as good as new. Most of these have insoles, some might not. Some also come with genuine German military surplus sand on the soles. All of them are in perfect working order though. Most of them are in very good condition and the surface is clean. Since somebody will ask this anyway, these don’t smell.
