Product description

These here are practice versions of Cobra Cuffs to do multiple repetitions in detaining exercises and such – do not use these in real world situations. Anyway, when you have a large crowd to detain, carrying a sufficient number of standard metal handcuffs is hardly practical. This is why lighter plastic cuffs are a viable alternative – with a bag of these, you can subdue at least a mid-sized illegal gathering!

  • Lightweight but strong
  • Compact for easy transport
  • Tightening lock

These blue Cobra Cuffs are designed for training – get the black, locking, and disposable Cuffs for real operations.

Details

According to the manufacturer, these disposable handcuffs are used and recommended by the United States Marine Corps. Cobra Cuffs are designed to enhance the safety of officers and soldiers – they are virtually impossible to remove or break by oneself, despite being lighter compared to metal handcuffs. The tensile strength (400+ pounds) is more than enough to keep even the strongest individuals from tearing the handcuffs apart, regardless of their juice level.

This information is about the black, locking version of the cuffs:

The wedge-shaped locking clip design also prevents the handcuffs from accidentally tightening too much on the detainee’s wrists during transport or struggle. Additionally, the material from which they are made does not cause abrasions like nylon or metal handcuffs. Cobra Cuffs also do not crack or crumble in extreme cold or heat. A special polymer blend ensures a long shelf life of at least 7 years for safe use.

Instructions

Here are simple instructions in text form. Further below is an illustrative video.

1. Remove the rubber band before packing the handcuffs into a pocket, vest, or such

2. When preparing the handcuffs for use, open them into the "rabbit ears" position

3. Instruct the detainee to bring both hands together in front of or behind their back with thumbs close together

4. Place the detainee’s hands into the handcuffs and pull the strap to tighten the handcuffs on the detainee’s wrists (the cuffs should be slightly above the wrists)

(5. If you would be using the proper, black cuffs, you would now snap the safety locks in on both sides to secure the handcuffs and prevent accidental tightening or escape attempts)

6. When it's time to remove the cuffs, just open and remove them without cutting anything
