The U.S. Air Force developed a lens in the 1930s that specifically transmits green and yellow light (wavelengths more easily perceived by humans) for optimal color differentiation. This reduces eye strain and helps in detecting environmental changes. Suitable for use in sunlight or at least daylight conditions.
