Haix Ranger GSG9-X, Surplus

We got another load of black boots from the stores of the French police. They said these were “safety boots”, but after closer inspection, we found out they were actually the high-end model Ranger GSG9-X. GSG 9 is the police tactical unit of the German Federal Police. If these boots are good enough for them, they are good enough for you!

The Haix Ranger GSG9-X boots are sturdy service boots for all kinds of missions. The waterproof Gore-Tex membrane will keep your feet dry. While on the move, the Haix Climate System recycles air through the boot and removes moisture. This keeps your feet cooler when it’s hot, and warmer when it’s cold. Two-zoned lacing ensures a tight fit, and these Haix boots have additional protection for your heels, ankles, and toes.

Size info

First the British size followed by a comparable EU size. These Haix boots have two-zone lacing, so they also accommodate people with wider insteps.

To convert UK sizes to US Men's sizes, just add one whole size e.g. a British 8.5 is an American 9.5.

We estimate these to be "two and a half" when it comes to stiffness. The scale is from 1 to 4 as follows: 1; urban and light trekking, 2; more support for general use, 3; stiff hiking boot for demanding trails or heavy loads, 4; mountain boot for rocky paths.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

These are service boots from durable leather so just some shoe polish and hardy work with a shoe brush does the job. You can spray the textile with some modern stuff that smells awful in a bad way (shoe polish smells awful in a good way) or you can choose to skip the spraying. Consider the membrane when choosing the wax or polish. Other than that, don't worry about it too much.

WARRANTY

When it comes to used surplus, speaking of a warranty may be a misnomer. Understand that these are damn good boots for real. Should any pair turn out to be defective somehow, we'll sort it out in our usual way to keep you happy.

FRENCH SURPLUS

These shoes are used surplus, but judging by the fine condition, they have probably only seen some light outdoor action.
