If you haven’t tried Kuomas yet, you might soon be tempted – here’s the classic, highly functional winter boot in a more field-ready style!
This is a Finnish classic – lightweight, warm, high-quality, machine-washable winter boot. A reliable Finnish staple for anyone navigating the winter season. The boots feature a warm fleece lining, a wide fit, and a durable sole. The outer material is water and dirt-repellent textile with PU leather reinforcements. These are machine washable, and the warm insoles can be removed for drying.
Kuomiokoski Company, known for its Kuoma shoes, has been in operation for nearly 100 years. Its story began in 1928 when Juho Puttonen founded a leather and footwear business and acquired a mill estate in Kuomiokoski. In the early years, the company produced shoe parts like insoles, but its activities expanded in the 1950s with the founding of the Mäntyharju Shoe Factory and the start of footwear production. In 1989, the Putkivarsi boot was born, becoming Kuoma's most popular product – the well-known children’s "Kuomas." In the 1990s, exports revived, and the range expanded to include winter and summer shoes.
Today, Kuomiokoski manufactures shoes, children's outdoor clothing, as well as insoles and wooden products. Kuomiokoski will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2028, and the Putkivarsi boot, one of its most iconic products, has been on the market for over 30 years.
