We believe this is the best holster on the market for a pistol with a weapon light – made for serious use! If you need a reliable, rugged, and durable pistol holster for work or other gun activities, this is the one – equipped with a retention mechanism and a mid-ride belt loop!
If the space-age plastic box holsters from some other manufacturers don’t appeal to you, choose US Duty Gear – this model is traditionally shaped to complement the contours of the pistol and light, without any unnecessary modern art edginess. The holster is made from SDR thermoplastic, designed to withstand all the wear and tear of work and other use.
The holster is designed for use with a weapon light. However, as the pistol is secured in the holster by a plastic stopper that engages the muzzle, the SRS mechanism that locks into the ejection port (depending on the model), and the trigger guard base that presses against the holster frame, the pistol locks in place even without a weapon light – and the light can be smaller than the one the holster is optimally designed for. There is also an adjustment screw under the holster to tighten the fit to your taste.
Note: the holster fits the model-specific pistol in its basic form – without protruding, threaded barrels or muzzle devices. The maximum front sight height is 9.9 mm / .39". Most red dot sights also fit (the forward-extending Trijicon SRO likely won’t fit without modifications made at your own risk). The LAP system at the muzzle can also be removed if you want to explore options for mounting something on the muzzle. However, this probably requires a perfect fit between the pistol-weapon light combo and the holster, as the pistol will no longer be supported by the muzzle.
The holster comes with a mid-ride belt loop. The loop fits belts up to 58 mm / 2.25" wide. The belt loop attaches to the holster with a three-screw pattern similar to Safariland – so you can attach other mounting accessories that follow the same blueprint (like QLS or Blade-Tech equivalents).
What do these levels mean? They refer to the level of retention in the holster. Level 1 means there’s no additional retention mechanism, and the pistol stays in place through friction. Level 2 means the holster has one mechanism – either a hood, strap, or trigger guard/ejection port locking mechanism. Level 3 means there are two locking mechanisms.
This Level 3 holster’s retention mechanisms are achieved through the SRS lock that engages the ejection port and the SRH strap (Safety Retention System and Safety Retention Hood). The SRH strap is released by pressing it down and forward. The SRS lock is released by a thumb lever.
The holsters shown in the video are for Staccato, but the model and functionality are the same for the US Duty Gear holsters we have available.
