A two-piece mess tin of the US Army. A compact and handy package. Based on a fairly similar WWI model, this design was finalized during WWII and produced at least until the 80s.
Consists of two parts: a pan with a handle and a plate that is divided into two sections. Made of stainless steel. Designed to be carried along wherever you go. It fits just as well in the meat can pouch of the haversack and an M61 buttpack.
Condition
Used US military surplus. Condition varies. Some are in nice condition. Some have seen more use, so they can have small dents and other signs of use. You may need to do some cleaning but after that you have a mess tin that lasts a lifetime or two.

L’ho comprato come alternativa al più recente mio Wildo in plastica adatto per fare il finto vegano con le ragazze vegane, quello americano è risalente al 1945 così è inciso sul manico, e’ ovviamente stato usato e si vede ma è ancora in ottime condizioni, vuol dire che è stato da qualche parte nel mondo non so dove per essere usato e non in uno squallido fondo di magazzino, nasce da una lastra d’acciaio americano finito sotto una pressa e non da scarti di bottiglie recuperate come immondizia, per 25€ ci si compra uno moderno in plastica ma non arriverà mai a 80 anni.

I finally bought a US mess kit, to add to my collection of mess kits - 11 so far. Mine has a stamped date of 1967. It does show its' age and that it has been used, so it does have a history to it. The mess kit is still in very serviceable condition.
