A compact, high-quality hydration carrier pack of the US Marine Corps. Looks very much like a CamelBak but isn’t. The reason for the stunning similarity is that this design simply works very well. Very durable professional military gear made by various US companies.
This pack is a member of the Family of Improved Load Bearing Equipment (FILBE). It has a zippered compartment for the water reservoir. You can fit e.g. the 3 L Source WXP and other similarly shaped ones. There are entry points for the hydration hose on both upper corners and on both sides in the middle. This is just the pack; the water reservoir is not included.
The hydration pack has adjustable, unpadded shoulder straps and a sternum strap. The shoulder straps have D rings for hanging stuff. The weight without a water reservoir is c. 500 g (1.1 lbs).
The lid flap has a zippered pocket for small items plus a hook and loop slot for a name tag. Against the back, you have a flat, full-length open pocket where you can hide the shoulder straps, in case you wish to fiddle with this and turn it into a pack that attaches directly to a vest or plate carrier.
There is also another zippered pocket at the lower half of the pack. It contains two open mesh pockets plus a clip where you can attach keys or some other preciousss that you don’t want to lose to nasty ‘obbitses. On top of the pocket, there is a 4x3 slot of PALS webbing for attaching extra gear.
NSN number: 8465-01-600-7882. These have been manufactured at least by Eagle Industries and Propper International, Inc but there can also be other manufacturers. Apart from the name tag, they are all similar awesome packs.
Used US Marine Corps surplus. The condition varies a bit, but mostly they are in very good condition, many look completely unused. There can of course be some small signs of use here and there.
