What could be better than Särmä TST Rifle Magazine Pouch? Well, this plate carrier placard, which has three of those bloody great pouches! These pouches are multi-caliber, so you can use the same pouch e.g. for AR and AK magazines as well as 7.62 NATO magazines, and they stay there even in very active duty. With our Särmä TST X-Harness and suitable pouches, you can also turn this versatile placard into a mini chest rig. German quality work.
We integrated three Särmä TST Rifle Magazine Pouches in this placard. There are many magazine pouches that in theory work with both AR and AK mags. In practice, the AK magazine fits very poorly especially in the open-top AR pouches, because their shape and center of gravity are so different. Looks pretty at first but things start flying here and there when it is showtime. This pouch doesn't have such problems.
Developing those pouches took a year and sucked out all the youth and vitality but it resulted in an awesome super pouch that will store various rifle/carbine mags. The other side of the pouch has an intricate rubber band setup that goes further up than in other pouches. It will push the magazine in place also from above. There are also L-shaped plastic reinforcements on the sides and the bottom of the pouch. The pouch will expand when you push in a wider magazine but also hug the smaller ones tightly like a Brutopian heavyweight wrestler.
On the backside, there is a hook-and-loop fastener, so you can slap the placard on the plate carrier and it stays there until you rip it off. With our Särmä TST X-Harness, you can also turn this into a mini chest rig that can be expanded sideways with any MOLLE/PALS-compatible pouches. If you like plastic buckles more, you can remove the metal G-hooks and replace them with the plastic buckles of your choice.
You can use the three pouches with the detachable flap, with the elastic band, or as an open-top pouch. The flap is held in place with Velcro, so you can adjust the height and angle freely. This way you can use magazines of different shapes and sizes. Because the flap is detachable, you can also turn this into an open-top pouch. Additionally, you can anchor the mag in place with an elastic band, which can either be attached the traditional way in the middle or you can put it on the side where it won’t be in the way when you put the mag back in the pouch.
The placards are manufactured by the German MD-textil, which is a family-owned business dedicated to tactical and technical gear. They make gear e.g. for the special dudes of the German army and border guard. They utilize state-of-the-art machines, which are almost as precise as German workers themselves.
To deliver only the best quality and maintain sustainable production, they are in close co-operation with special forces and do not source basic materials from low-wage countries. For example, sewing thread, L-shaped plastic parts, and elastic bands are made in Germany. The Velcro is made in Spain, and other plastic parts are made in Italy.
