Product description

The old Suojeluskunta badge in subdued colors, with velcro or as a simple sew-on patch. 50 mm / 2" wide, made to fit on the Finnish army M91 and M05 jacket sleeves.

Suojeluskunta was the sort-of-a-civil-guard of Finland from 1918 to 1944 - it provided military training and a volunteer reserve for the army. The Allied commission banned the organization after the peace with the Soviet Union in 1944. Although officially nonpolitical, Suojeluskunta had a strong heritage of the victorious white side of the Finnish civil war and had a definite right-wing touch in it.

Made in Finland

These are manufactured by patch makers who've also made similar insignia for the Finnish army, quality stuff!

I was impressed with the quality of this patch, as, being a collector, I've paid for for less. It even comes with the soft side velcro cut to size and ready to sew onto your gear.
