The best thing about Source's hydration systems is probably the bladder and its lining, which makes the life of harmful bacteria, algae, and fungi difficult, effectively keeping the bladder cleaner for longer. Of course, it is still recommended to clean it periodically, but it needs far less care than most hydration bladders. This makes it ideal for combat situations where cleaning is not always possible.

The Storm valve operates without biting, which makes it reliable and improves water flow. It is opened and closed by pulling and pushing, and locks up with a small turn. The mouthpiece is at a 90-degree angle, so the tube itself can be kept shorter and out of the way, yet easily accessible

The whole top of the bladder can be opened, which does cleaning and drying easy-peasy. A traditional large-cap allows you to fill it without removing the bladder from the pack. A separately sold tap adapter allows filling from the tube, which is the fastest way.

The tube and the valve can both be detached by just snapping open the quick-release connectors (QMT), and the tube has a durable cover to eliminate glare and UV-rays. The connectors are most easily opened by first pushing the parts together, then pressing the lever to release.
