A true military classic is the navy turtleneck or "Submariner" sweater, this time as envisioned by the Italian navy. No no, don't laugh, it's a proper thick and overall well made sweater of notable appearance and quality. Of course being Italian, the fit is slimmer than usual.
Once in a while we get our hands on something very nice, like these dark blue navy sweaters. Being made for military use, the knitwork is thick and durable to withstand storms and sailor grab-ass, a feature not very often seen on civilian pullovers. The turtleneck sure has its friends and foes, but it's undeniably warm and leaves no nasty cold spots anywhere. If the pullover fits just tight enough it can also paint a very intellectual picture of its wearer. This might be good or bad news.
We have no idea about the specifics of the material, but it does contain a lot of wool. You can probably machine wash these at 30 degrees Celsius. Hang dry only. Usually just airing the sweater out is enough. You could even leave it outside for the night to freshen up and get back to shape with those unruly kids.
Sizes in the Italian "very logical" system, where a larger number means smaller size. We mostly got size "3" which corresponds to EU size 48, or US 38". When you get the pullover, it might look rather small. This is intentional, it's supposed to fit rather tight. It will stretch and form in use.
For the most part these looked unworn, or lightly used. We suggest airing them out before use to get rid of any old warehouse dust.
