We found more of old South African stuff – this time these belts. This is a simple canvas belt with a metal buckle and adjustable length. Back in the day it would have been used as a trouser belt or a light combat belt. Availability very limited!
The belt with snap fasteners is most likely the Pattern 70 belt. The snap fasteners would eliminate sideways movement of pouches on the belt. The plain belt is similar, probably of an older generation, or just meant to be used as a belt without pouches.
These belts are made of proper ol' cotton canvas, the kind of stuff that does not wear out.
The belts are old but in good condition. They are used, but probably by some loitering door guards – there is no evidence of proper field use wear and tear.
