Product details
Product description

A small general-purpose pouch, coincidentally just the size to house 100 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition! Wonderfully simple no-bullshit design, this is what military kit should look like. Who knows, one could easily come up with civilian applications for it as well.

A cup-shaped lid keeps your stuff inside and dirt out. Closes with an ITW Nexus QR buckle. Drain grommet in the bottom and stiff plastic side plates to keep the pouch in shape. The NIR-compliant Cordura fabric is PU coated on the inside but practically the pouch is splashproof at best.

Requires two columns and rows of MOLLE/PALS webbing for attachment. To carry the pouch on your belt we recommend a Twin-column belt adapter.

  • Size: 12 x 15 x 7 cm / (4.5" x 6" x 3")
  • Practical size: two 0,5 l beer cans
  • NSN 8465-01-532-2397

US military surplus

Made in the USA, even the polymer buckles! Tough construction to withstand combat, but likely not been there. Overall in a very nice condition; smells like Freedom! The white spots sometimes seen on the backside are the chalk markings for sewing. Yep, some of these are pretty damn unissued.

Think there might have been some confusion with the description and pics for these - at the time of ordering and of writing this review, the pictures and description suggest this pouch is NSNd, has standard-spaced PALS (compatible with Varusteleka's twin column belt adapter) and plastic inserts. Both of the pouches that were sent to me were not NSNd (and were in fact completely unmarked), did not have the plastic inserts, and the molle webbing is the annoying wide-spaced variety which doesn't easily fit a standard PALS grid and definitely doesn't fit the twin column belt adapter, unless you bend the pouch almost to a right angle...after which you could...maybe use it to...erm...ankle-carry binoculars? In summary, if you want the side stiffeners, ignore what's in the pics and description for this item, and order the very similar IFAK pouch. Otherwise this pouch is as described. I.E beige, and pouchy. Fit for purpose once the listing is amended.

I got the same pouches as Alexander above: Two brand new, never used, coyote brown pouches without plastic stiffeners, and no NSN markings. In fact, there are no markings at all on the pouch itself. The buckles are upside down as compared to the photos. The buckles are marked "National Molding, Farmingdale NY" and appear to have been made in May 2005. The colour of the pouches is almost the same Coyote Brown as the USMC FILBE rucksack, but there is a tiny difference. When viewed through my crappy 1st Gen NVG, the pouches have nearly the same IR reflectiveness as the USMC ruck, but might be a smidge brighter. The black buckles really stand out when seen through the NVG, much more so than seen with your bare eyes. The pouches seem to be of very high quality, and I am pleased with my purchase, but you do NOT get the pouches that Varusteleka think they're selling you. I would give these pouches a four star rating if the description had matched the product. I really wanted the plastic stiffeners, so I'll have to wait untill Varusteleka has the right pouches in stock again.
